What to Expect
Your First Visit at Black & Gold Chiropractic & Wellness
When you first enter our inviting office, you will be greeted warmly by our staff. You can expect the first visit and exam to take 30-45 minutes. Your visit will begin with the following steps:
- Complete paperwork on the iPad (Or you can fill it out before you come in!)
- Meet with Dr. Jess or Dr. Jake to discuss the issues you’re having and your goals
- Have a thorough examination that may include X-rays, thermography or a SEMG
We encourage you to dress comfortably for this visit. We will also provide a gown if you need one.
The Second Visit
During your second visit, Dr. Jess or Dr. Jake will review the results and findings from the X-ray or scans. They will then discuss their recommendations for care and discuss an individualized treatment plan for you. After you understand the plan and all of your questions have been answered, you will be adjusted.
Benefits of Regular Visits
During regular visits, patients will check in and start by doing 1-2 warm-up exercises such as the wall traction, or wobble chair. Then they’ll be adjusted. Next, patients will move on to other active therapies like vibration plate exercises, spinal stretches, and head and shoulder weights on wobble board surfaces.
Chiropractic care is beneficial to maintaining your health. We encourage our patients to take an active approach when it comes to their health. It’s similar to taking care of your body through exercise. You don’t go to the gym once and immediately expect to stay in shape. We like to work with patients through the course of their lives so they can remain active and healthy.
Health and Wellness Education
Drs. Jess and Jake have plans to feature educational materials and hold talks in their office a few times a month. Topics will focus on healthy lifestyle actions such as good nutrition. At Black & Gold Chiropractic & Wellness we will also help parents-to-be have a natural childbirth. We offer The Bradley Method® class, taught by a certified Bradley Method® instructor. The method, also known as husband-coached childbirth, was developed by Robert A. Bradley, M.D. in 1947.
